Wētā Cave Auckland is a compact but immersive underground attraction hidden on Level 5 of a Federal Street building in the heart of Auckland CBD. It's home to New Zealand's largest collection of wētā—native insects that look like oversized grasshoppers and have remained virtually unchanged for 190 million years. The cave recreates a natural limestone environment where you can observe these fascinating creatures up close, along with other native species like tuatara and skinks.
